Haiku

waxing gibbous
the rhythm of the baby’s
heartbeat

spring breeze
a maple stretches
to catch a kite

empty beer cans
the conversation that seemed
so important

refuge
we save and shelter
fallen apples

river by night
bathing in the moon
a silver bass
