Senryu

blind date . . .
he says I am
perfect

guilty pleasure—
the sidelong glance
of her parrot

conversation
at the family dinner—
quicksand

writer’s block
the paper gives me
a blank stare

fickle moon
the light in your eyes
not meant for me
