dawn
slips through the city
on the river
a chiffchaff brings
the news of spring
shadows
move through stones
in shards of moonlight
the jagged edges
of truth between us
last relative –
my roots disappear
one by one
riverside stones
shift beneath my feet
somewhere
in the deepening shadows
of the woods
the edge of the wind cuts deep –
these wounds that never heal
